What Is Brokenness?
When people hear the word brokenness, they often think of poverty, addiction, violence, divorce, crime, or conflict.
While these are real problems, they are not the problem.
They are often the symptoms.
Brokenness runs much deeper.
At Agents of Change International, we define brokenness as the fracture of one or more of our most important relationships.
It is the invisible condition that develops when our relationship with God, ourselves, other people, or the world around us becomes damaged.
When relationships break, lives begin to break.
Families begin to break.
Communities begin to break.
Eventually, nations experience the consequences.
This is why we believe humanity’s greatest crisis is not merely political, economic, or technological.
It is relational.
Watch: What Does Brokenness Really Look Like?
Brokenness isn’t always visible. Sometimes it appears in the distance between people who were once close. This short film explores what happens when relationships fracture—and what becomes possible when healing begins.
Brokenness Doesn’t Always Look Broken
Brokenness is not always obvious.
Sometimes it wears a business suit.
Sometimes it lives in a mansion.
Sometimes it sits in a classroom.
Sometimes it stands behind a pulpit.
Sometimes it serves in public office.
Sometimes it quietly hides behind a smile.
Brokenness has no social class.
No race.
No nationality.
No age.
As our movement often says,
“From the crack house to the White House, and everywhere in between, there are broken people.”
Brokenness is universal because every human being has experienced pain, disappointment, rejection, loss, fear, or failure in one form or another.
The question is not whether brokenness exists.
The question is how we respond to it.
Wear the Message. Live the Mission.
Heal the World – Love Will Find a Way
The Heal the World collection represents a simple but powerful belief:
Healing begins when ordinary people choose to model compassion, restore relationships, and become part of the solution.
Wear the message.
Live the mission.

What Does Brokenness Produce?
When brokenness is left unaddressed, it often reveals itself in destructive ways.
It can become anger.
It can become hatred.
It can become greed.
It can become violence.
It can become loneliness.
It can become addiction.
It can become racism.
It can become pride.
It can become hopelessness.
These behaviors may appear different on the surface, but they often share the same root—a fractured relationship somewhere beneath the surface.
That is why simply treating behavior without addressing the heart rarely produces lasting change.
Healing Begins With Relationships
If brokenness is relational, then healing must also be relational.
Healthy relationships build healthy people.
Healthy people build healthy families.
Healthy families build healthy communities.
Healthy communities build healthy nations.
This is why Agents of Change International exists.
Our mission is not simply to identify what is wrong with the world.
Our mission is to model a better way.
We believe love is not merely something we speak about.
Love is something we demonstrate.
Every act of kindness…
Every conversation that restores trust…
Every moment of forgiveness…
Every decision to serve another person…
These are not small actions.
They are the building blocks of a healthier world.

Becoming an Agent of Change
The world doesn’t need more people pointing out what is broken.
It needs more people willing to help restore what has been broken.
That begins with each of us.
One relationship.
One conversation.
One act of kindness.
One life at a time.
Because changing the world doesn’t begin somewhere else.
It begins with us.
Reflection
Before you leave, consider these questions:
• Which relationship in my life needs healing?
• Have I been contributing to brokenness or helping to restore it?
• What is one act of love I can demonstrate this week?
Every Agent of Change begins with one decision.
Choose to become part of the solution.
